1993 Action Packed Hall of Fame #27 Bill Sharman

Welcome to Cataloged Clutter, where we enjoy collecting and spending time with junk wax, common cards and cards others overlook!

Today, we’re adding the #27 Bill Sharman card from 1993 Action Packed Hall of Fame to our video collection. And it has one of the most insignificant uncorrected printing errors you’ll see on a card. So remember, this is probably never-before-discussed research that you heard first on CatalogedClutter…and, honestly, you’ll probably wish you had the time back! In the general biographical information at the top, someone highlighted a bit too far when they were making “Wt:” bold and they accidentally made the “1” in “190” bold as well. All kidding aside, I enjoy every one of my cards no matter how common they might be and it’s really fun for me finding meaningless errors like this. Adds a human element to card!

Is Bill Sharman in this photo not one of the happiest people you ever saw on a basketball card? You’d be happy too if, when you retired, you had the NBA record for free throw percentage. His .883 when he left the league was the highest at the time. He’s number 15 now, which isn’t too bad considering decades of time has past. Stephen Curry is in the lead, but he’s still playing, Steve Nash is tops for those who finished their playing career. Bill Sharman also set a league record at the time when he shot .932 from the line in 1958-59, although at least twenty players have beat that in a single season as the years have passed.

So that’s all, just a quick video today. If you like delving into these historical players, I encourage you to view our videos exploring Series I of this 1993 Action Packed Hall of Fame. We’ve looked at the first 27 cards at this point. But this is a nice one. When remembering shooting accuracy, Bill Sharman really should be included in that discussion,…four titles with the Celtics, coached a Lakers championship team. Neat card, even if someone accidentally highlighted an extra character in bold!

Please subscribe and collect with us! We give every individual basketball card that we can get our hands on its own video, so we get to enjoy and discuss many overlooked cards: commons, oddballs, printing errors… It’s something a bit different from the usual big-money investing and box breaks. I hope it allows you to spend time with some of your overlooked cards too.
