Welcome to Cataloged Clutter where every card gets a video! No card is too common here!
With the addition of this #26 Nate “Tiny” Archibald card, we now have videos of the first 26 cards from 1993 Action Packed Hall of Fame. And with Nate Archibald, we have a landmark referenced hinted at in the video title, that has never been repeated to this day. But first, let’s talk about this photo! Great photo! You can win some bets with younger basketball fans with this photo. Just tell them you have a card from 1993 and you’ll buy them a drink if they can name the city that the player plays for… To fans active in the ’70’s and ’80’s, or collectors who’ve spent time building those Topps sets from that time period, there’s no doubt that we have a Kansas City Kings jersey on the front of this card. Try to find another embossed Kansas City Kings jersey against a matte finished background. What a great photo! And against Portland too! Nate Archibald had his scoring high against Portland. It’s mentioned on the back of this card, “Posted career bests with 55 pts vs Portland” on February 23, 1972. His high in assists was 23 against Denver over a decade later. By the way, the scoring momentum from that 55-points carried over into the next ’72-73 season. Look here, “Became 1st player in NBA history to win scoring and assist crowns in the same season with career highs of 34.0 points and 11.4 assists per game in 1972-73.” First player? Well, believe it or not, we’re still waiting! It hasn’t happened again since then.
By the way, remember when they actually played defense during the All-Star game? Look at this… He was the All-Star MVP in 1981 with only nine points and nine assists.
This 1993 Action Packed set, is like owning an NBA history book. So many milestones and great moments mentioned on these cards. Feel free to check out our other videos or pick up a set for yourself. The prices stayed very reasonable for this one, try not to pay more than $30 for this one. But very fun cards!
Please subscribe and collect with us! We give every individual basketball card its own video, so we get to enjoy and remember so many overlooked cards: commons, oddballs, printing variations… It’s something a bit different from the usual big-money investing and box breaks. I hope it allows you to spend time with some of your overlooked cards too.
